Summary: Mother-in-Law was hardly the only spider to receive the boons of scientific amplification. Imagine more of her kind, only this time their spread goes unimpeded...albeit safely contained for the moment.

History: The mad scientist known as Dr. Grbac plans on studying spider immune systems to help forward medical research, but his methods border on insane. He and his crew have been kidnapping folks and using them as incubators. Incubators for a strain of giant spider he created that does almost exactly what Mother-in-Law did a year ago. Namely, burst out of a human host and grow into gargantuan arachnids. All of this is happening on a cargo ship set on a course to civilization, and only a few can stop it.

Notable Kills: Once again, we get the privilege of seeing spiders viscerally burst out of people. At least that's something that makes this a consistant sequel.

Final Fate: Eventually, all of the spiders are released all at once to vanquish Grbac and his crew. The ship is then blown up to kill them all, though the last spider gets a grenade to the mouth.

Powers/Abilities: These spiders grow at an alarming rate, capable of reaching sizes well above humans.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-Once again, we have some awesomely frightening practical spiders ruined by CGI, only this time the digital effects are even worse! The spiders themselves look less like actual spiders and more like first drafts for Shelob as they grow, so they have that going for them too, at least.

Trivia: -This film was known in Italy as "Invasion of the Spiders".

-The spiders' rather demonic-looking mandibles could have been partially inspired by the mouths of camel spiders. That, or Yautjas. Either one wouldn't surprise us.
